I love adventures and will do pretty much anything if it’ll make for a good story. And in my 26 years, I’ve had some pretty amazing adventures: swimming with sharks in Fiji, driving from Boston to Dothan, AL in a 15-passenger van for a Habitat for Humanity project, paragliding off a mountain in Slovenia and sailing in the Great Barrier Reef are a few of my favorites.
Now that I’m working in the real world, I don’t always have the time (or budget) for grand adventures. But I put a lot of effort into finding things to do in my area, or a day trip away, that are fun-filled and wallet-friendly. My motto is: the more random and unusual the adventure, the better.
For now, this blog will mostly cover my adventures in North Carolina, but I’ll mix it up whenever I get the chance to travel. I have lots of stories to share, and I hope you enjoy!
Here are photos from some of my favorite adventures:
Hiking the Franz Joseph Glacier:
Sliding around in a salt mine in Salzburg, Austria:
Having too much fun with snorkel gear in the Great Barrier Reef:
Playing games in a church in Dothan, AL:
One of my favorite pictures of all time – shot of the rundown car that drove us up the “hill” before paragliding in Bled, Slovenia:
Shearing sheep in New Zealand:

Kathy,
I remember that photo from our adventure Boston –> Dothan or BUST. You are a terrific writer and an even better person. Need a New England adventures contributer? I might just know one…
